Blaine Redrick is the commander and the man in charge of the military encampment  where the group headed. He is both kind and law abiding, and deviates between the two. At first he is good and kind, wanting to stop the war and hide, and live with his soldiers peacefully for some time and then resurface. When the group reaches the base, they are welcomed despite the protocol that said they are not to be taken in.

Afterwards, he and William have a disagreement because William says he is soft and not fit to lead the men. he then imposes a military junta, saying there are people out there that need help and that he won't let Redrick rob them of the help the military can offer. He also says they are obliged to fight for their country. Redrick says all he wanted was to not lose any more people. He is then taken to prison, where he is held until Mason tries to assassinate him. He is then released by William when he declares a democracy

He then bribes his men and takes back control, banishing William and his group but executed some of his men that betrayed him.
